The River is about 400 km long, and drains a total basin area of approximately 13,325 km\u00b2. The population residing in the basin is approximately 1.3 million people. The Mara River Basin is internationally recognized due to Maasai Mara-Serengeti ecosystem. Jointly, these ecosystems were recently declared the seventh new Wonder of the World. The main objective of this Service is the feasibility study for two multipurpose dams that will include the review of all information available, the carry out of topographical, hydrological surveys and geotechnical investigations and the conduct of a preliminary environmental and social impact assessments.
