Directive 2007\/60\/ec"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Evros River flows at the eastern Balkan peninsula and its basin covers a total area of 53,000km2, spread between Bulgaria (35,085km\u00b2 &#8211; 66.2% of the total area), Turkey (14,575km\u00b2 &#8211; 27.5%) and Greece (3,340 km2 &#8211; 6.3%). The total river flow length is 528km, of which 310km are within Bulgarian territories while the remaining 218km define the borderline of the three countries. It is the second largest river of the Balkans, after Danube, and transports a significant sediment yield, creating an estuary of high environmental value at the Aegean Sea.
