Each of the three statutory institutions implemented a specific aspect of the whole component. A national project coordination office (NPCO) located in the Ministry of Water and Irrigation was responsible for the overall coordination of the implementation of project activities.The area under study was approximately 10,000 km\u00b2. Flow and sediment monitoring in about 20 rivers in the catchment was in the scope of the contract with parallel training of the WRMA staff. Bathymetric surveys in 4 reservoirs were contacted (Masinga, Kamburu, Ndakaini and Sasumua) and a soil erosion model for all the catchment was developed and run. The design of a monitoring network for all the catchment was performed both for meteorological, hydro geological and hydrological data.
