The purpose of this project was the design of a very sophisticated intake at the right embankment to avoid the construction of a weir inside the river which would definetely create flooding problems upstream. Basically the intake consisted of a filter system to avoid sediments entering the pipe. From the intake, the water flow to the main pumping station designed by the Consultant and from there to the main irrigation reservoir.
