Scope of the project was to diverse the treatment water of Salonica WWTP from river Axios to Thermaikos Gulf. The project included: Detailed design for the reconstruction of the existing part of the pipe, 2.50 km long, detailed design for the construction of the new land part of the pipe, 7.84 km long, detailed design for the construction of the new underwater part of the pipe, 2.70 km long and design, support studies such as topographical survey, geological and geotechnical investigations and laboratory tests, environmental and socio-economic studies, etc. Tender documents , cost estimation, bidding documents were produced to support the Service for the implementation of the total project along with the supervision of construction.<br \/>\nThe study focused on the design and the implementation of a double 1600 mm cement disposal pipe of about 13 km long, with all the necessary apparent hydraulic structures.
