Two treatment plants were proposed, the rehabilitation of the existing in Kalamata, and a new-one in Koroni village. The study was extended to cover all villages at the interior of Messiniakos Gulf that would be served by the two treatment plants. A number of alternative solutions examined in order to propose the most technicallly and financially appropriate. The alternative design studied different locations for the WWTP installation and a number of pumping stations.<br \/>\nThe study dealt with the main pipes for the wastewater transport system covering the whole of Messiniakos Gulf from Koroni to Kitries villages. Two treatment plants were proposed, the rehabilitation of the existing in Kalamata, and a new-one in Koroni village. The study was extended to cover all villages at the interior of Messiniakos Gulf that would be served by the two treatment plants.
