Manikia dam was designed as an earthfill dam with a clay core and its basic technical characteristics are: &#8211; River Basin upstream of the dam: 13.60 km\u00b2. &#8211; Elevation at the dam&#8217;s axis: +729 m in the river valley, +774 m at dam&#8217;s crest, +770 at dam&#8217;s f.s.l. &#8211; Total capacity of the dam: 2,602,000 m\u00b3, usefull capacity of the dam: 2,399,500 m\u00b3. &#8211; Dam&#8217;s height (at the axis): 54 m. &#8211; Irrigation area (downstream): 800 ha, water supply demand 3.43 hm\u00b3\/year for Kymi and Aliveri cities. Construction of dam was ended at 2003. Now it is in full operational mode.<br \/>\nThe objective of the study was the detailed design for the construction of the water supply and irrigation dam \u201cManikia\u201d in Evia Perfecture, central Greece. It was designed as an earthfill dam with a clay core. The river basin upstream of the dam is 13.60 km\u00b2. The total capacity of the dam is 2,602,000 m\u00b3. The dam&#8217;s height is 54 m, the irrigation area served 800 ha while the water supply demand 3.43 hm\u00b3\/year for Kymi and Aliveri cities.
