The utility manages a reticulation system of about 1407km and 23 reservoirs (of which four clear water tanks) with an estimated capacity of 97,317m3. The management of the system is divided into three zones, Limbe, Kabula, and Soche.<br>Specific Taks by project under this consultancy<br><strong>a. Mulanje Dam.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Prepare a Feasibility Study (technical, financial and economic) for construction of the Dam<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Carry out a full Environmental and Social Impact assessment for the construction of the Dam<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare an optimized preliminary and the conveyance system to Nguludi Treatment Works<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Review the designs for Nguludi Treatment Works and recommend whether expansions are necessary<br>in line with the proposed dam works.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Carry out detailed design of the Mulanje dam, the conveyance system to Nguludi Treatment Works<br>and Treatment Works if proposed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare the Dam safety management plans (DSMP) and Prepare bid documents for all proposed works<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>b. Mombezi Dam.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The dam was designed to have an active storage capacity of 71.6 Mm3 and a maximum height of 44m in-cluding freeboard. Its construction will lead to flooding around 620 ha of land upstream of the dam. The dam will be a rockfill dam.<br>The water treatment plant will be located around 1 km downstream of the dam, on the right bank of the river.
