Consultancy services of non-revenue water reduction study & design

The water losses in Dire Dawa water supply network are estimated at 1,265,720 m³/annum which corresponds to 28% of the volume of water produced. The aim of the Non-Revenue Water Reduction Study will be to reduce the percentage of water losses from 28% to 18% within a five year period. The objectives include the development of an updated map of the Dire Dawa water supply network, the development in GIS software of all necessary databases required, the development of a skeletal network hydraulic model, the specification and procurement of all necessary leak detection equipment for use in effective network monitoring, improved water metering and efficient leak locating and localising, the capacity building of the DDWSSA and the training of DDWSSA staff in all aspects of NRW management and the implementation of a new organisational structure at DDWSSA through which the the proposed strategies and actions will become practicable, achievable and sustainable.
