Consulting services for the implementation of law 57/2008 (eu directive 2000 /60) for the management of bathing water quality in cyprus

The scope of this contract was to provide services for the implementation of Articles 5, 7, 8, 9, 10 & 13 of Cyprus Law 57 (I)/2008 (that conforms to the E.U. Directive 2000/60), mainly concerning the management of bathing water quality, categorized as code 90710000. In particular, identities of bathing water regions were developed and appropriate management measures were proposed to ensure the high quality of bathing water. Actions to inform the public were designed, such as publishing information on the Internet, designing information signs to be placed on beaches, organizing five (5) workshops and preparing designs for brochures. Database for annual and four yearly assessments of bathing water quality were be also designed.The service covered the fields of a) Collection of all relevant hydrological, hydro geological, meteorological, environmental and economic data in the area of interest b)Analysis of the information using the appropriate scientific tools and software and c) Evaluation of the results and selection of the appropriate measures that best apply to the problems.
