CONSULTING SERVICES FOR UPDATING THE EXISTING STORMWATER DRAINAGE STUDIES, THE PREPARATION OF BIDDING DOCUMENTS, THE EVALUATION OF TENDERS AND THE SUPERVISION OF CONSTRUCTION OF THE GREATER LIMASSOL AREA

The main objective of the Sewerage Board of Limassol – Amathus (SBLA) was the construction, of the stormwater drainage system of the Greater Limassol Area (1,261ha area).
The anti-flood works comprise 20,8 km of drainage system. The pipelines consisted of concrete pipes (D500-D1200) of 17.869 km length and box culverts (200 X 100 up to 320 X 200) of 3km length. Along the Lanitis avenue the box culverts were 2X2500X2000 – 1.910m.
The storm water drainage works comprised the construction of approximately 423 manholes, the connections to the existing drainage system, the construction of drainage gullies and associated pipes and the reinstatement of existing utilities.
A total network of 20,485m was examined. The total contract budget was 16,197,000.00 €.

Storm Drain Projects costing approximately €62 million were implemented during Phase 2b of the Board’s new in-vestment program. They included the following:
• Construction of anti-flood works in western Limassol to resolve the problem of flooding in the area.
