The project concerned the detailed design study of a sewerage and drainage network across the K4 – K5 junctions part of the Patras bypass motorway. Due to difficult area morphology, the design of special hydraulic structures was needed to transfer safely downstream, the water from the upstream catchment areas. The road surface drainage system was also designed. Special care was given in the areas of proposed bridges and the drainage on their surface. Study’s objectives were: Review of and comment on all existing studies, developing a GIS system for the road network, developing a detailed hydraulic model, simulation of different scenarios, final design of canals and channels, storm water protection design, Final drawings and detailed hydraulic analysis and calculations.
