Preliminary design study of dendra dam, larissa prefecture, central greece

The objective of the study was the preliminary design of the irrigation dam “Dendra” in Larisa Perfecture, central Greece. Dendra dam was designed as an earthfill 26m high dam with a clay core with a total capacity of 860,000 m³ and usefull capacity of 815,000 m³. The irrigation area downstream was 75 ha. The service covered the fields of: – Hydrological Assessment Study for the river catchment basin. – Feasibility Study Analysis (dam type, location, purpose, storage capacity, geological survey, apparent structures, etc). – Preliminary hydrological, hydrogeological, geological and geotechnical investigations and analysis. – Preliminary dam design, dam safety analysis, monitoring plan, tender documents, bill of quantities, cost estimates. – Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) Study. – Socio-Economic Study, including investment plan, financing options, funding proposals, etc.
