Preliminary study for the potentiality of hydroelectric power plants construction in evros prefecture, thrace, north greece

The project involved the feasibility study for the development of small hydroelectric plants in Evros prefecture and especially in the administrative boundaries of the municipalities of Didimoticho, Metaxades and Orfeos. The following criteria were assessed: (a) the surface of the dam’s lake, (b) the emerging hydraulic drop between abstraction and station, (c) the length of the pipeline transportation, (d) the installed capacity and produced energy, (e) the construction cost and (f) the environmental commitments. Eight (8) locations were identified which met the above criteria.All sites have been examined both with desk and field work and a feasibility study report was submitted to the Client.
