Sarako solar farm land drainage study

A photo-Voltaic (PV) solar farm is set up by Sarako PVP Co Ltd. on a site of extent 80A along the lower slopes of St. Pierre Mountain, Mauritius. The objective of this assignment was to re-assess storm water runoff conditions and propose the implementation of watershed measures, as the cut off trench that was was constructed initially, at the cut embankment of a track road at the upstream end of the site, had been filled up with significant volumes of debris causing limitation of the constructed trench hydraulic capacity that resulted in flooding of the PV solar farm and erosion across the site. The project included also a filed investigation to identify the flooding problems, as well as a topographical survey for the development of a hydraulic model for the computation of the surface run-off arriving at the different locations on the farm.
