T.i.l.de. (tools for integrated leakage detection)

The project focused on the problems of leakage and water quality in public water supply networks. TILDE project’s primary target was to optimize management of water distribution systems focusing on leakage. The leakage control process combines the tasks of monitoring, detection, location and repair. Within leakage management it was essential to be able to accurately estimate leakage levels, have good management and monitoring tools, detect location and repair leaks. The ultimate deliverable of TILDE project was a decision support tool (DST) to improve the overall management and operation of water distribution systems and data management tool (DMS) to support water utilities in managing different data in order to establish a state of art leakage strategy. The SCADA system, already installed an operative with in the city’s network, was used to collect and evaluate data from the pilot areas. The TILDE DST and DMS tools developments were connected to the SCADA system.
