The Water Resources Assessment Study of the river Smixiotikos included the following: 1) Collection of all the relevant environmental, hydrological and hydro geological information,2) Development of an integrated database and presentation of all the relevant data on maps (GIS),3) Recording of all activities related to water use and estimation of water demand for each category of use 4) Use of simulation software (MIKE BASIN & MIKE SHE) 5) Analysis of developing projects in the greater area and determination of current and future water needs 6) Dissemination actions: workshops, training courses, internet site development, documentation and manuals.
